On 20-22 November in Astana and 25-27 November in Bishkek, BOMCA 10 organized technical assistance mission on development of standard operating procedure for veterinary and phytosanitary import controls gathering representatives of veterinary and phytosanitary services of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
On 19-20 November, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) handed over specialized equipment to the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic for a total of EUR 87,844. The received document verification devices, as well as computer and office equipment, are intended to equip the classroom of the Border Faculty of the Military Institute of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the Centre for Advanced Training and Retraining of Military Personnel of the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic.
On 18 – 20 November, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) in cooperation with USAID Trade Central Asia (TCA) project organised a technical assistance mission to Ashgabat, delivered as a national workshop for the representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
The EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) handed over technical equipment to secondary schools located in the border areas of the northern regions of Kyrgyzstan.
On 22 – 24 October, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organised a regional workshop-hackathon for press-officers of the border, customs and migration services of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
On 22 October, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) handed over phytosanitary inspection kits to the Agency of Plant Protection and Quarantine under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan for a total value of 49 240 EUR.
On 16 October, the EU funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) handed over specialised equipment to several state agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, amounting to 209 468 EUR.
On 14 – 18 October, NGOs and civil society organisations implementing projects to benefit Central Asian border communities gathered in Tashkent and Bishkek for important meetings with the BOMCA 10 team. These projects, funded by the EU under the 2nd Call for Proposals of BOMCA 10, aim to improve the lives of people in these regions.
The EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held the third round of its National Project Steering Group meetings in Turkmenistan, in order to review the progress of its third implementation year and define plans for the final period of project implementation.
