  • Thematic Component: 1. Institutional Development of Border Control Agencies
  • Country: Kyrgyzstan

On 19-20 November, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) handed over specialized equipment to the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic for a total of EUR 87,844. The received document verification devices, as well as computer and office equipment, are intended to equip the classroom of the Border Faculty of the Military Institute of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the Centre for Advanced Training and Retraining of Military Personnel of the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The modern technical means of border control received by the Border Service bring the training of border guards organised at the Centre for Advanced Training and at the Border Faculty to a whole new level, as well as contribute to improving the quality of training in document security.

Through equipping the Centre for Advanced Training and Retraining of the Border Service along with the Border Faculty of the Military Institute, military personnel (cadets) will be able to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for the high-quality performance of assigned tasks for the implementation of border control procedures at border crossing points of the Kyrgyz Republic.

This support was provided within the framework of Component 1 of the Programme to further strengthen the technical basis of the Border Service in addressing specific border management and training priorities.
