This component is implemented by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) and aims at improving living conditions in border areas through local economic development, with a focus on human rights, gender equality and vulnerable groups. It targets local authorities, civil society and non-governmental organisations.

In particular, the component will facilitate local cross-border development and cooperation, and will focus on anti-corruption, human/migrant rights and gender equality. Grants for non-governmental organisations are foreseen within this component.
