On 21 - 23 January, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organised a Training of trainers (ToT) in Almaty, designed to strengthen the capacity of female professors from the training institutions of the Ministry of Interior of Kazakhstan in providing psychological support and developing emotional intelligence.
The EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) provided top-edge equipment for the Almaty Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after M. Esbulatov equipping one of the classes of the Training Centre for specialists in combating organised crime. The official handover ceremony took place in Almaty on 29 November 2024.
On 20-22 November in Astana and 25-27 November in Bishkek, BOMCA 10 organized technical assistance mission on development of standard operating procedure for veterinary and phytosanitary import controls gathering representatives of veterinary and phytosanitary services of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
On 16 October, the EU funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) handed over specialised equipment to several state agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, amounting to 209 468 EUR.
From September 30 to October 1, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a national workshop in Kazakhstan for first line officers dealing with the profiling of potential traffickers of human beings and of smugglers.
On September 24, the closing ceremony of BOMCA #ToT course for dog handling instructors from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan (specializing in the search for explosives, ammunition, and weapons) took place at the Canine Center of the State Border Guard College of Latvia.
On September 23, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia completed its training of trainers (ToT) course for dog handling instructors specializing in the search for drugs. The 2nd round of ToT was organized within the framework of BOMCA Programme’s Component 2, “Improvement of detection capacities to counter cross-border crime”.
From September 16 to 17, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10), held a national workshop in Astana for officers from analytical units of border and law enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan responsible for risk analysis and crime identification.
On September 16, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia organised a regional online workshop on profiling at border checkpoints.
