From September 6 to 8, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) jointly with LEICA organised a workshop for the representatives of law enforcement agencies (LEA) of Tajikistan, specialising in investigations of cross-border crimes.

This programme activity aims to familiarise participants with the EU approach and novel methods of investigation of organised cross-border crime such as trafficking of firearms, their parts, explosives, ammunition, currency and other goods.

In addition, the expert team presented case studies related to the trafficking of firearms, their parts, explosives, ammunition, currency and other goods and together with participants reviewed procedures on investigation of cross-border crimes.

This activity was organised in the framework of the Programme’s Component 2, “Improvement of Detection Capacities”, which aims to support LEA in evidence-based investigations, specifically dealing with detection and investigation of cross-border crime.
