Tajik Border Troops receive specialised cynology equipment to enhance their detection capacities

On June 19, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) officially handed over a specialised cynology equipment to the Training Centre "Poytakht" of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan, accounting for a total value of 6,110.00 EUR.

Specialised equipment will maximize the agency effectiveness in detection of illegal substances at border and facilitate detention of suspects involved in illegal cross border activities.

The assistance provided is in line with the Roadmap for development of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2024-2028 “Increasing human resources for border management”.

The equipment was procured in the framework of BOMCA 10 Component 1, “Institutional Development of Border Agencies”, aimed at further developing and strengthening the institutional capacities of border management agencies in Central Asian countries.
