On August 20, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) handed over a sets of distance learning equipment to the Border Institute of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan. The total value of the handed over equipment amounted to 12, 093.00 EUR.
Training equipment, which includes all necessary items for distance learning have been installed in the training premises. This technical assistance is aimed to ensure a high quality of site and distance training activities, as well as strengthening the capacities of the educational institution.
Deputy Head of the Border Institute, colonel Tagoymurod Ashurov noted that the distance learning equipment provided by the BOMCA 10 will improve the qualifications of the staff. "Moreover, from now, the Institute is ready to conduct distance learning lessons with other regions and countries" - he said.
It is noteworthy that such development of equipment need has been identified at the BOMCA organized Annual Regional Consortium of Heads of Border Guarding and Customs training institutions of Central Asian countries meeting last November in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan and now it has resulted in a delivery of equipment.
These assets were purchased in the framework of BOMCA 10 Component 1, “Institutional Development of Border Control Agencies”.
