On October 13, in Almaty, Kazakhstan, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10), jointly with Central Asia Drug Action Programme (CADAP), organised an international K9 competition for dog handlers/service dogs in the areas of “Search of drugs" and “Search of explosives”. This activity was dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of EU-funded BOMCA and CADAP programmes.
Participants from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan demonstrated the increased capabilities of K9 staff deriving from the Training of Trainers (ToT) courses organised by BOMCA 10 in EU Member States (Latvia and Lithuania) in the summer of 2022 and the capacities of sniffer dogs provided by the Programme.
