In Tajikistan, BOMCA programme keeps building capacity in the area of document security

  • Thematic Component: 1. Institutional Development of Border Control Agencies
  • Country: Tajikistan

From September 24 to 27, in Dushanbe the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a national ToT session on document security (advanced level).

This activity aimed to enhance the capacity of trainers, in line with the EU best practices in document examination. The expertise during the workshop was delivered by the experienced professional in the field of document security - Head of the Document Examination Service of the State Border Guard of Latvia.

As we informed earlier, to establish a sustainable document security training system, BOMCA 10 programme recently equipped Training centre “Poytakht” of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan with a modern and specialised set of document examination equipment (compact magnifying devices, document authenticity verification devices, video spectral comparator and ICT) which allows now to conduct trainings to frontline Border Guard staff.

ToT is implemented under the framework of the Component 1 “Institutional Development of Border Control Agencies”, which aims to further develop and strengthen the institutional capacities of border control agencies in Central Asian countries.
