EU-funded programme strengthened leadership and management skills of Border and Customs agencies in Kyrgyzstan

From 24 to 26 June, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organized training in Bishkek on leadership and management for the managerial level staff of the military personnel of the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security and employees of the State Customs Service under the Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan.

The purpose of activity is to provide training to military personnel of units and divisions of the Border and Customs Service employees on the development of leadership qualities and managerial skills necessary for effective organization of work in the field. 

Experts from Kazakhstan familiarized participants with the principles of diagnostics and development of managerial, socio-psychological and personal competences of the leader. Also, participants gained knowledge in the formation and development of skills in formulating and analysing various types of problems, learned about the main factors influencing the performance of the unit and the role of the leader in this process.

The training was organized within the Component 1 “Institutional Development of Border Control Agencies” in accordance with the approved Work Plan 2024 for conducting training courses and lectures, as per the results of the Annual Meeting of the Consortium of Heads of Educational Institutions of Border and Customs Agencies of Central Asian countries.
