On February 5, 2024, the EU-funded BOMCA 10 programme held an online lecture on post-clearance checks and customs auditing.
This programme activity is aimed at assisting the Central Asian countries with capacity building activities in various forms of customs controls that should be fast, effective, and based on modern risk management techniques.
During the e-lecture, participants were introduced to different types of post-clearance control activities; areas, levels, and scope of controls; stages of customs’ auditing, and the competences and roles of auditors in providing effective performance of post-clearance controls.
In addition, there was a discussion of approaches to the organization of preventive work to promote the voluntary fulfilment of obligations by customers.
The lecture was organized in accordance with the approved Work Plan 2024 for conducting training courses and lectures, as per the results of the Annual Meeting of the Consortium of Heads of Educational Institutions of Border and Customs Agencies of Central Asian countries, held from October 31 to November 2, 2023, in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
