BOMCA 10 supports uninterrupted operations at Uzbekistan’s border crossing points

  • Thematic Component: 1. Institutional Development of Border Control Agencies
  • Country: Uzbekistan

On 26 March, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) handed over specialised equipment valued at EUR 19,758 to the Border Guard Forces of the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

A total of 138 uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units were provided to ensure stable and uninterrupted power supply for passport control booths at border crossing points (BCPs). Frequent power supply disruptions in border areas pose risks to system stability, potentially leading to data loss and operational delays. The newly installed UPS units will maintain continuous power during outages, enhancing security and reducing risks associated with system failures.

The equipment was provided under BOMCA 10 Component 1 “Institutional Development of Border Control Agencies”, which focuses on strengthening the technical capacity of border agencies to improve operational efficiency.
