On July 28, the EU funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA10) officially handed over photo and video cameras to the Forensic Unit of the Main Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Turkmenistan, accounting for a total value of 9,874 EUR.
The set of equipment consist of one camera with flash speed light, different lens and accessories, three video cameras with accessories and shoulder bag. Said equipment will be used for inspection of crime scenes at borders. A photo camera with lenses will support in taking photographs according to the rules of court photography. The use of a video camera is possible, both during the inspection of the scene, and during other investigative actions, in particular, arranging the verification of testimony at the place of the suspect, accused or witness.
It is worth noting that these assets were purchased by BOMCA 10 on the basis of an ad hoc request by the national counterparts to further strengthen the technical basis of their respective agencies, which in its turn supports the achievement of results under the BOMCA programme.
