On 26 March, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) handed over interactive touchpads valued at EUR 8,972 to the Committee of Veterinary and Livestock Development under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The supplied equipment will be used to enhance the qualifications of veterinary specialists responsible for state veterinary supervision at the border and in transportation. Four devices will be installed in Tashkent, at the border veterinary point in Samarkand, in Nukus (Republic of Karakalpakstan) and Bukhara. Sensor touchpads equipped with speakerphone and camera will support distance learning courses through interactive educational modules, ensuring effective training for veterinary inspectors working in remote locations.
Technical support was provided within the framework of the Programme’s Component 3 «Facilitation of Trade» to strengthen the technical capacity of veterinary control authorities. By improving access to modern training tools, the Committee of Veterinary and Livestock Development is enhancing the professional competencies of its specialists, ensuring higher standards in veterinary supervision at the border.
