On 10 December, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) provided specialised equipment valued at EUR 9,718.03 to the State Customs Service under the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic during a handover ceremony in Bishkek.
The supplied equipment, including laptops, interactive board, scanners, speakerphone, car inverters, and a video wall controller, will enhance customs operations in remote border regions, rapid response and decision-making by the central office, as well as improve coordination and international cooperation in anti-smuggling initiatives.
This support will significantly enhance coordination between the central office and customs units at the border, improve mobility in the field, ensure prompt decision-making as well as improve risk analysis and data verification.
The equipment was provided under the Programme’s Component 2, aimed at strengthening investigative capacities and combating cross-border crime, and supports the implementation of Customs Service Development Concept for 2022–2024.
