From October 10 to11, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia held a workshop on the development of a mobile application for the State customs service of Turkmenistan.
The activity contributes to the specific objectives of the BOMCA 10 Component 4 on “improvement of cross-border cooperation for better living conditions in border areas through local economic development focusing on human rights, gender equality and support to vulnerable groups”.
As a part of the implementation of the Action Plan on “Raising public awareness on customs procedures through wide use of IT solutions in border areas” implemented by the BOMCA 10 Programme in Turkmenistan, a two-day workshop contributed to the development of the concept and technical specifications of the mobile application that will be developed for the Turkmen Customs Service, with the support of BOMCA 10.
This meeting focused on sharing the existing experience of the development of mobile applications in Turkmenistan and how the final mobile application for the customs service could benefit from the relevant good practices of the EU MS’ and other countries.
Taking into account conceptual considerations for the final product, concrete technical specifications were discussed concerning the application.
