From November 1 to 3, 2022, the Border Management Program in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a regional workshop with elements of training of trainers (ToT) methodology for the phytosanitary and veterinary agencies of Central Asian countries, involved in the implementation of World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) standards in import/export controls.
The regional workshop aimed to provide information and training on the application of the OIE Terrestrial Code and Aquatic Animal Health Code - Aquatic Code requirements and practical implementation for risk-based import controls and veterinary certification. The workshop will support competent authorities in shaping a customised plan of action, based on an analysis of their specific country situation.
During the workshop experts and participants developed the guidelines for implementation on OIE Terrestrial Code and Aquatic Animal Health Code - Aquatic Code for live animal controls, including certification the process of animal and animal products.
