On 3 October in Tashkent the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held its third round of National Project Steering Group meetings (NSG) in Uzbekistan.
Jointly with the national counterparts, the project reviewed implementation in the past year in the context of the overall progress and impact of the project to date.
Between April 2021 and September 2024 over 1500 representatives in Uzbekistan have benefited from the capacity-building activities across all four thematic areas of the project. Over 100 activities of various types have been implemented, which resulted in at least 45 guiding documents handed over for review and action to the Uzbek national agencies. The advancements of skills have been paired with technical support. Finally, 2 project with NGOs have been implemented.
The Steering Group looked in details into the progress and impact of the project to date as well as defined priorities for the final year of implementation.
