The Uzbek Center for Development of Well-Being of the Population ‘Taraqqiyot’ developed models for an inclusive capacity-building programme that provided training and empowerment tools for women living in the Fergana region.
Along with the projects implemented by individual NGOs, the Kazakh public association Echo, together with the Uzbek Humanitarian Law Center, implemented a joint project. Through planned research activities, the project helped identify the needs and problems related to migration processes to improve the living conditions of the population living in the Mangystau, Kyzylorda and Turkestan regions of Kazakhstan and the Jizzakh, Navoi and Tashkent regions of Uzbekistan. The results were then reviewed in conjunction with local authorities to develop evidence-based local development programmes. Special attention was also paid to raising awareness about the rights of migrants and the risks associated with irregular migration.
